READY Robotics is attempting to speed up the time it takes for businesses in the manufacturing and industrial sectors to programme their machinery, using its combination of hardware and software automation tools.
The company’s automation platform means it’ll take businesses hours to deploy new functionality to its fleet of robots, meaning they can increase efficiencies of production and change their functionality much faster than before.
For example, if a company needs to change the task a robot has been programmed to do, make a tweak to a way it carries out that task, or it needs to switch resource to manufacture a new product, READY Robotics’ automation platform can be used to make the change fast.
“My team is always on the lookout for disruptive technologies, especially ones that democratize a way of doing things,” Harry Zhong, technical lead of Infrastructure Innovation at READY Robotics said. “The Ready Robotics solution makes it so easy to do pop up automation that not only will it change the way we manufacture but it will also shift the way we design and validate.”
One of the businesses already taking advantage of READY Robotics’ automation platform is Stanley Black & Decker, which is using TaskMate to boost the productivity of its Infrastructure Factory. In initial tests, it was used to automate a Haas SL-series CNC lathe and completing production runs of parts.
“Our overall goal is to get to that lights out operation for maximum flexibility and efficiency and the TaskMate system is a first step for us on that journey,” said James Olsen, Manufacturing Engineering Manager at the Stanley Black & Decker pilot facility. “Couple the ease of setup with capable performance and we can achieve an ROI in less than two years on this first application alone.”
