UBtech Robotics’ latest little robot is a Star Wars-inspired critter that can recognise your face and use this intelligence to report back to you if intruders enter your home. It’ll also attempt to deter them too, although we’re not sure how effective a 16-inch plastic toy will be to get rid of unwanted persons in your residence.

What may prove a little more scary to people who break into your home is if you hook them up as an army of Stormtroopers, ready to flock around whoever it is breaking in. This will come at quite a cost though as each robot will set you back a rather fresh $300.

The First Order Stormtrooper Robot’s can also be programmed to understand voice commands (again, helping ward off intruders using the power of your voice) and it will patrol around your home to make sure nothing’s awry.

To add a little more fun to the party, the First Order Stormtrooper Robot’s companion app ships with a pretty impressive augmented reality game onboard, which allows you to shoot out against invisible enemies in your surroundings.

UBtech has come under fire in the first with its platform deemed open to hackers, but the company is quick to stress that it keeps the information offline now, so hopefully, there’s no risk of an intruder being able to hack into the robot to see your home is in fact unoccupied.

For those who’s rather not let a herd of stormtroopers into their home (or even one, for that matter), you can instead invest in Sphero’s Star Wars BB-8 robot, which has a rather more friendly feel about it.
